If you want to have a visit to Komodo dragon first, you can take a flight to Labuanbajo, located on the Western part of Flores island, then you can continue your overland journey to explore the Eastern part.

As a volcanic island, Flores has many unique and spectacular attractions. Mount Kelimutu (1792m) has become one of the favorite tourist destination, with its three crater lakes of different colors.

Flores is also known with its Ikat weaving, the well-known tie-dyeing weaving technique. There are also many interesting places worth to be visited such as : traditional houses and megalithic tombs, Nature Conservation Park in Riung mainly to protect the under water ecosystem, an island with unspoiled mangrove forests inhabited by thousands of huge fruit eating bats.

Wae Rebo, an old Manggaraian village, is worth to visit. Situated in pleasant, isolated mountain scenery, this village offers visitors a unique opportunity to see authentic Manggarai housing and to experience the everyday life of the local community. In the village of Wae Rebo, visitors can see "mbaru niang" – traditional, circular cone-shaped houses with very unique architecture. Nowadays, it is still a place to hold meetings, rituals and Sunday-morning prayers together.
